Colonie Boys Soccer Code of Conduct:
All members of the Colonie Boys Soccer program shall abide by the Roles and Responsibilities outlined below as well as the values, standards, expectations, policies, and procedures. Actions or behaviors that are determined to violate these Roles and Responsibilities and/or the values, standards, expectations, policies, and procedures outlined throughout this handbook shall result in disciplinary action including but not limited to exclusion from a game, training, or team event; removal from the field or training ground, and/or the removal of the privilege to participate as an active member of the team.
Players Role:

Play within the rules of the game with respect for your opponent, the officials, your teammates, the fans, the families, the spectators, and both coaching staffs.

Do the simple things well.

Pursue excellence in academics and athletics.

Seize every opportunity to learn, develop, and improve.

Support your teammates on and off the field.

Demonstrate maturity, accountability, and personal responsibility.

Give back to your community.

Communicate your availability for all games, training sessions, and events before the day of the game, training session, or event.

Know and follow all school rules and Colonie Boys Soccer standards of excellence, principles of development, and playing time standards.

Talk to your coach about any questions or concerns.

Communicate to exchange and provide information through a solution-focused perspective.

Take responsibility for your personal development on the field, in the classroom, and within our community.
Parent / Guardians Role

Support the growth and development of each member of the team.

Respect the decisions of the coaching staff.

Respect the decisions of the officials.

Demonstrate respect for opposition fans, coaches, families, and athletes.

Talk to your child if you have any questions about the team or the program. If you still have questions, contact the head coach through the procedures outlined in this handbook.

Help and encourage your child to productively verbalize and process their emotions and feelings surrounding participating in competitive sport.

Communicate your availability for all games, training sessions, and events before the day of the game, training session, or event.

Help and encourage your child to develop self-advocacy skills by talking to them about how, when, and where they can schedule a conversation to talk to the coach about their role within the team, areas of strength and development, overall progress, playing time, etc.

Be supportive of your child, the team, all teammates, the coaches, and the school.

Support and help your child to think about how competitive sports can develop a growth mindset and build personal character on and off the field, in the classroom, and in ways that transcend sports.
Coaches Role:

Create and maintain a safe and healthy playing and learning environment.

Know and employ injury prevention procedures including periodizing physical and cognitive training loads throughout the season.

Communicate your availability for all games, training sessions, and events before the day of the game, training session, or event.

Provide all players and families with the Colonie Boys Soccer program handbook outlining expectations, procedures, policies, and standards for participation.

Coach, teach and implement the Colonie Boys Soccer game model, principles of play, standards of excellence, and guiding documents.

Ensure that each player is meeting academic and character-based eligibility standards.

Maintain inventory and organization of equipment.
-
Maintain individual player and team-specific data points to provide objective information utilized in the Individual Player Development process.

Encourage fair play by observing the Laws of the Game while modeling and promoting program standards, expectations, and core values.

Model and teach respect, composure, and self-regulation; win or lose.

Promote and demonstrate respect for the game, our opponent, the officials, our school, our community, the players, the families, knowing that actions represent our program culture.

Hold ourselves accountable to the same standards, expectations, core values, policies, and procedures we have set for the players and set for us by the school.
